There is a natural process that goes on whenever we need to find an appliance to replace one we already have. We will normally look at our budget to see what we can afford, and then try to marry that up with whatever is on the market. Ideally we will get an appliance, such as a washing machine for example, that is as good as we can afford.
But is it worth doing this? Should we always get the best ones we can or should we settle for something as cheap as possible? After all they are all capable of washing clothes and isn’t that what we want them for?
Basically speaking the answer is of course yes. But there is more to it than that. A basic washing machine is only going to have very basic functions on it. If you want one that is environmentally friendly and only uses the smallest amount of water to get your clothes clean, you will need to spend more money to make it happen.
There is a big difference between the prices of entry level washing machines and the top of the range models. Of course there is a difference between manufacturers as well, and if you want a brand name manufactured machine that everyone will have heard of you will have to spend more to get it. Entry level machines at their very cheapest will not generally have names on them that people will recognise. So you need to think about what will be best for you.
Sometimes you may not have a choice of what you can get. If you have a very small budget you simply have to find a machine that fits in with this. But since washing machines are in general very well made nowadays you will probably be quite happy with a basic model.
Not everyone wants to buy at the very top of the range of what is available. For example some people like the idea of buying an eco-friendly, all singing, all dancing washing machine. But they simply don’t like the idea of spending £600 or so to get it.
So you can see that it may not matter too much if you want to get a bargain brand new washing machine. It depends on what you want to get out of it and how much you have to spend.
