Do You Read Washing Machine Reviews?

Monday December 14, 2009

The chances are you don’t, particularly if you aren’t in the market for a new machine. But if you are then you should definitely be reading all about them, because it can help you make the right choice of which one to get.

This is particularly the case now that reviews have to be 100% honest to make it onto a website. Since the new rules came in on the 1st December, you cannot add fake reviews to any websites. Of course you can be pretty sure that the big well known websites wouldn’t have done this anyway. But now you can be even more confident that you are reading genuine reviews from people who have simply gone out and bought that machine and want to share their experiences.

Some of the big websites such as Argos and others are good for reading reviews on from customers. You can often find dozens of reviews from people on each washing machine. It is worth spending a few minutes going through them to see which ones are going to be appropriate for your needs.

There are other places you can find reviews of washing machines as well, such as forums and similar outlets. If you are going to look for reviews make sure you go to several websites to get an overall picture. Then make a shortlist of potential machines that might be good for you and that have good feedback overall. This should help you to make your final decision on which washing machine will work for you.

Once this is done, you can consider your own needs. How big a machine will you need? How many people do you have in your house? How often do you use it and do you need a variety of cycles that allow you to wash items faster if need be?

The more homework you do before you actually buy the washing machine you want, the more likely it is that you will be delighted with your purchase. Price should also be a consideration of course, but it can often be worth spending a few more pounds in order to get something that you will be really pleased with.

In the end reviews can be worth their weight in gold to the average buyer. And yet not everyone thinks of using them. Will you fall into this group or will you do your research first?
