Hoover was originally known for being at the forefront of the market when it came to cleaning floors. There aren’t many companies who can lay claim to having effectively re-named the vacuum cleaner, after all!
Hoover Washing Machines from our Featured Retailers
But that is just the start. Having celebrated its centenary since it was first born back in 1908, Hoover has come a long way and now has a distinctive range of washing machines available as well, among other appliances.
What types of washing machines do they make?
They sell both built in and freestanding models and the whole range is particularly impressive. They clearly cater for the modern washing machine user too, supplying more than just the minimum capacity machines to give extra versatility and less washing time.
Unlike many other manufacturers they also have a top loading machine available. Most of the machines are white in appearance but the odd one or two come in silver or even black.
Why does a washing machine by this brand fit the bill?
When you buy a Hoover washing machine you are buying advanced technology. And most of the larger capacity machines still fit in the same amount of space as a normal machine. So you can replace what you already have without having to make any changes to accommodate it.
All of the machines have lots of features and benefits, but the most advanced of them all sport features such as a steam wash and also wash programmes that are as short as 14 minutes! This is clearly a great feature to have if you only have a few clothes that need washing.
Is their website very informative?
Yes, the distinctive Hoover brand is noticeable on every page you visit. There is a distinctive red bar near the top of the site which contains all the main departments for the products. We want laundry, so hover over that until the washing machines option appears and then select that.
Once you are there, you will see that Hoover has very helpfully split its machines into sections according to the maximum load of washing they can take. So for example we start with the 10kg machines at the top of the page, and then go right down to the 6kg ones.
Clicking on the title for any one will transport you to that page. This is where you can find out all the ins and outs about it. They also have more than one image for each machine; just click on the magnifying glass to the bottom left and a small window will open up on the same page. All you have to do is put your mouse cursor over the right side of the window and click – the next image will then appear.
The key features and benefits panel to the right of the main picture is presented in a series of bullet points. Some of these have a little red information symbol next to them. If you click on this you will see a small panel pop up explaining more about that particular feature. For example, one machine had a hygienic wash cycle – this turned out to be a wash that eliminates 99.9% of bacteria in the clothes.
Further down the page you will be able to read a short summary of the product, as well as going through all the features and the programmes on the machine. There is even a panel which reveals all the buttons and dials the machine has. There are other sections on this page which give you all the dimensions, specifications and performance ratings as well.
You might think this is the end of the page and all the information they have. You have certainly seen a lot of it, but be sure you don’t miss the tiny links they have on the left side of the page, about halfway down. The two most important ones are ‘where to buy’, which helps you out with stockists, and the ‘download spec (PDF)’ option. This enables you to download everything you have read in a format you can hang onto for later. It’s useful if you want to compare a Hoover washing machine to one made by another brand.
In conclusion
Hoover has transformed itself since those early days of merely looking after our floors and carpets. It may produce outstanding vacuum cleaners, but it also has the best range of washing machines. Once you have seen one you may not want to go anywhere else.
